Yes, you'll be able to ride the climb on the day - you just might have to get here early - the roads usually close a good 3-5 hours prior to the riders getting there. I'm sure you won't be alone in riding it either! I'd plan on getting to the top by midday to be safe. The climb takes around an hour from Morzine - depending on your fitness etc.

hey,
do you know if its possible to ride the climb up to avoriaz on the day of teh stage. i am going to be staying in chamonix, but will be cycling/driving over for a few days to watch the stage finish and do some cycling.
i was hoping to cycle from chamonix to avoriaz on the stage up to avoriaz and then either camp in morzine or avoriaz.
do you think this will be possible and will teh road be open or closed on the day like on some stages.

How did you guys get on? Actually I know how you got on ... 'cos the Transvesubienne isn't anything other than a total beating. Nothing like feeling totally wrecked after 5 hrs of psychotic downhill with everyone bombing past. Only just made the final checkpoint, and dragged my sorry arse to the end 12 hrs after I started. Nearly last.

Back for more next year?!

Well... All depends on your priorities really. The 2.5s will give you a bit more sure-footed-ness - they'll roll over or through stuff without getting knocked off line as much. They'll also grip better and be a little more forgiving due to the extra volume. And the added pinch puncture protection... We'll have some in stock in the chalet if you want to wait and see. 70 euros a pair.

Also depends on your rims - if they can get on without swearing!

Guy,

I'm gonna be there Singletrack week and was planning on running my 2.35 stickee Highroller up front and Nevegal in back. Do you think it's worth the 70$ for the 2.5s, really?

Ahh, Cervinia... lovely resort. Am heading there in a fortnight for 4 days snowboarding. Have always been there in the winter and as such, never really picked up on much mountain biking going on there, but there must be some great trails.

Good choice teaming up with the Dragon. Best pub in town - though the Yeti might try to argue that one :-)

Hi guys

Haven't been on the bike now for over a year, keen as mustard to take trip over to you guys in the new year, probably not the Mega, as I've have forgotten how to change gears and fix a punture. Looks like you have a good healthy year round biking calender planned - well done. Cheers Joe
