After leaving the dusty dry trails of Finale Ligure after the Super Enduro this weekend, we headed back across the border into France where we had a date with Seb and Manou from Pep’s Spirit.
After a day of rain and rest we were ready to get back out riding and keen to find out more about Val d’Allos, a place we’d heard lots of good stuff about, but never ridden before. With Manou providing vehicle uplift and Seb guiding we were perfectly set up.
The trails definitely did not dissapoint. In two days we rode pretty much everything there is to like about mountain biking. Rocky gullies, swoopy forest singletrack, tight technical switchbacks and big panorama exposed singletrack. Plus of course a special snowy descent.
Better photos to follow once I get hold of Sian’s….

After a packed weekend at the Champéry MTB World Championships in the Portes du Soleil the girls from the most successful team at the Worlds (1 gold and 1 silver medal!) made sure to say thank you and goodbye to the flowmtb team.
We’ll never know whether their success is due to the flowmtb cake or all those runs on the Portes du Soleil DHs….
What we do know is we’re looking forward to having them back next year!

This week the MTB and Trials World Champs are taking place in Champery, part of the same linked Portes du Soleil MTB area as Morzine.
The lifts are staying open so bikers can get over to see the action. Due to the rally the lifts are not fully open on friday and saturday, but extra early opening has been added so you can still get over to watch the stars!

And see if you can spot the dirt team at the Les Gets Alpine Battle series…they’ll be the ones with flowmtb stickers on their helmets!

A few of the guys from Dirt came to stay in June and here’s what they had to say….
‘exceptional value’…’the food really was top class’…’it was good to bed down somewhere homely’

A recent article on Mountain Biking in Morzine and the Portes du Soleil appeared in the Sunday Times. And of course they recommended flowmtb as THE place for mountain bike accommodation in Morzine.
