New trails for 2010

There’s lots of new stuff happening in Morzine and the Portes du Soleil for mountain bikers this summer. Here’s the lowdown on what to expect.

Avoriaz adds a new red downhill track to its mountain bike area in Lindarets.

Châtel has enlarged its bike park with 2 new North Shore zones, 1 Training Dirt Zone and 2 Pump Tracks.

Les Gets has enlarged its mountain bike area with 3 new downhill tracks, a green track in the Chavannes area and a blue and red track in the Nauchets area.

British mountain bikers in Morzine

There’s more Brits coming to ride in Morzine than any other nation! Here’s some stats published by the Portes du Soleil:

The Portes du Soleil area is only one hour from Geneva International Airport and attracts mountain bikers from all over Europe. The highest number of riders comes from Great Britain, representing over 40%, followed by 30% from France and 15% from Switzerland. Benelux represents 7% with Germany representing 4% and Italy, Spain and Scandinavia making up the rest.
