hey,
do you know if its possible to ride the climb up to avoriaz on the day of teh stage. i am going to be staying in chamonix, but will be cycling/driving over for a few days to watch the stage finish and do some cycling.
i was hoping to cycle from chamonix to avoriaz on the stage up to avoriaz and then either camp in morzine or avoriaz.
do you think this will be possible and will teh road be open or closed on the day like on some stages.
dan
Yes, you’ll be able to ride the climb on the day - you just might have to get here early - the roads usually close a good 3-5 hours prior to the riders getting there. I’m sure you won’t be alone in riding it either! I’d plan on getting to the top by midday to be safe. The climb takes around an hour from Morzine - depending on your fitness etc.
