We decided it was time to venture out of Morzine for the day and took Greg and Emily somewhere they’d not been before: Annecy. Well Greg thinks he may have been there before but can’t really remember 
So on Wednesday we loaded a picnic into the bus along with suncream and swimming gear and headed off. The gardens by the lake were the perfect picnic spot and after lunch we searched around for the pointiest boat (apparently that means fast) we could find that they’d let us hire, sans boating licence. A fantastic boat was finally settled on that even had a cover for some shade. I got the job of getting us out of the harbour, round the many pedalos and canoes, but eventually we were safely through and speeding along the open water. We all took turns at driving the boat and getting some good air off the waves created by big boats, and swam in the middle of the lake.
Next up was a wander through the old town, coffee, beers, shopping and finally dinner in the restaurant with the best looking chairs. On the way home we checked out the skate park so Emily could decide whether it’s worth a return trip with her BMX - apparently it is.
Pretty good day all round.
