Our Shed

Just thought I’d share some pictures of our well equipped shed. Took me all day to make the ‘mezzanine’ level at the back and my ears were killing after hammering about a million nails into the wood. As you can see we now have a tool wall as well as loads of bike storage – I reckon we can get about 25 bikes in there now!

Happy Birthday to me!

Well – a belated happy birthday to me for Sunday.

Here’s what I looked like (a fool) riding all day – thanks to Greg.

Settling in

So I arrived a few days ago in Morzine (totally blanked Guy at the airport!). Its been pretty much build bikes, ride bikes, tinker with bikes, eat and sleep for me for me since Wednesday.

Guy and Sara have been showing me around some great trails I’ve never ridden before. And it has rained. A lot. But to be fair, that’s only made it better for me, it is great fun in the rain! We’ve taken Jules from Cycle Wild Scotland out with us to show him around a bit too, and he seems to be enjoying it, announcing every trail is “World Class” every time we stop… He’s not wrong.

Yesterday Guy and I treated ourselves to a couple of runs down ‘Le Pleney’ on the new Bullit hire bikes, they ride like a dream. Christmas comes early, like Sara, for us two as well; We get our new Royal Racing and 661 gear today if the postman comes (fingers crossed!).
I’m really looking forward to meeting and riding with the first guests and spending my whole summer in (possibly) the best biking destination in the world.

TCL skills week

Well we’ve been a bit quiet as it’s been a busy week…but a great one too! Loads of riding was done, and it’s great to be back on our favourite trails and searching out more. The TCL training went well (more on that plus photos soon) and I was able to tag along and learn loads (again!) from Jules. His coaching is pretty amazing and it’s great to see everyone improving skills and learning new tricks. We had some wet and muddy rides this week, but then they’re always the ones you remember…and the cake tastes even better at the end!
A few days of sun and it’s all drying up nicely. Let’s hope it stays this way.

The season’s started

Well the lifts are open and we have guests in and riding, and hence have been quiet on here. We’ve got Jules Fincham from Cycle Wild scotland out this week running the first ever TCL training course to be run in the Alps. So far it’s looking to be a great week, with happy learners. Today’s mechanics session kept everyone out of the morning rain, and was followed by some skills work and a pretty fun ride. Oh and I got to ride my new Blur LT which was pretty sweet!

minxy things

It’s not just new bikes, but some new clothes…well for me at least! My new Sombrios look ultra cool, and the minx tees and race jerseys are great. The tee is cut perfectly for girls who prefer to cover their midriff that show off their cheese eating abilities! It’s very flattering so I like it a lot. I also found some arm warmers in there…not tried them before but having tried them on I can’t believe I never got any before. No more, too hot as I wore a LS top, too cold as I wore a SS top…..Now I just need to find some time to ride my new bike in my new clothes.
So I had Christmas all over again, bikes and bike clothes!

Thanks yet again to Minx :)

Not long now

We’ve made it back to Morzine now. And into our new chalet in town. Things are all shaping up rather nicely… and we meet our new man Greg at the airport tomorrow. New bikes, new chalet, new staff, and a whole load of new guests to meet, ride and eat with over the next few months. With all this driving, bike building and getting the chalet ready, I’ve hardly been out on the bike at all in the last few weeks. Ah well, I’ll make up for it and then some during the summer.

I can’t wait!

Hopefully see you here some time soon.

what a week!

Well, the week is nearly done – one more journey to go – from Surrey back to Morzine on Saturday…

We’ve just got down to Surrey from Santa Cruz HQ in Harrogate with a rather valuable cargo of bikes on board. Somewhere in the region of £20,000 worth to be precise! We’ve got three of only about half a dozen Bullits in the country – very exclusive! Top that with three Hecklers, a Nomad, a VP-Free, a Blur 4X (mine!) a Blur LT (Sara’s) and you’ve got one hell of a shipment. And there’s still 3 bikes to come!

I won’t deny it – it’s been a bit like Christmas day today!
